I'm being told that I am 26G short of being able to install Big Sur. What do I do?
Is there a work around to install Big Sur? There's no way I can free up 26 gb to install. I have Mac Air (mid 2013)
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

No. There is no workaround.
You need to free up more disk space.
Since there can not be empty space created to allow for the upgrade the only possible way ( defer to others with more experience ) is Erase the existing macOS and install Big Sur as a clean install. That is what I can Atomic Way - total destruction of a good working macOS for a newer macOS.
