My IPHONE XR,ROW,64GB,CORAL is STUCK AT RESTORE. Error number 47 keeps popping up at the end. It cannot update or even Restore to Factory Settings. USB Cable icon and Laptop icon show up but connection to any computer cannot update or Restore. iTunes can detect phone and serial number. When I hit Restore, it extracts the necessary files but cannot succeed in connecting to the phone and updating.

What could be the problem?

iPhone XR, iOS 13

I think this is a new error that has not yet surfaced in Apple Support. As you can see, Error 46 is the last error listed at Apple website, so I assume the system gave it a new number. It comes up after the iTunes extracted the software for restoring the phone to factory settings and after trying to update the phone with the software upgrade and restore to factory settings. The system returns to Apple site to verify successful restore but finds that the iPhone cannot be found. The error message then pops up.

I am using Dell Computer and my iTunes has the latest version updated from the website.

The sequence is like this:

When I switch on the iPhone XR, it shows the USB Cable icon pointing to a Computer icon, asking me toi connect to a computer.

I connect to my PC or my HP Laptop via iTunes, it detects the serial number of the phone and shows it but also says there is a problem with the iPhone asking me to update software or restore to Factory settings.

When I hit Update or Restore, the iTunes starts extracting the necessary software.

At the end of download the phone is unable to Update and asks me to Restore. Hitting on the Restore button once again starts downloading software needed. At this point the Serial number is gone and replaced by "n/a".

Finally the error message 47 comes up saying Unsuccessful.

I even took the phone to A-Labs, the authorized Apple Service Centre. They tried and to restore but were not successful. They need to replace the phone along with new charges.

The phone is less than two years in use only for very normal usage.
