Apps disappearing and moving from homescreen

iPhone 12 pro max. 14.2.1

have started experiencing apps moving and deleting on there own.

I just opened my phone and the first two rows on my home page were gone. I had to move them back into place from the app drawer. I can back and I had apps moved around on me out of place. Not even touching screen or starting the wiggle to do these things and when I put in pocket I turn off screen

I also have two friends having similar issues. Apps deleting off Home Screen and moving around and a lot of pocket dialing than normal.

I have set Haptic Touch to slow but haven’t helped.

ant way to decrease screen sensitivity? This is becoming an issue fore me a my friends.

thanks

Beach City Ed,

Thanks for getting back to us and for attempting those steps.

To further isolate this issue, we recommend to restore the software of your iPhone by using a computer. Then, setting the device up as new (without a backup). This will allow to test and see, if the issue is located within the current files or software installed. Here’s how to complete the test:

  1. How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

2. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

3) Set up your iPhone following the steps here: Set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

*** For step 5 - “Apps & Data”, select "Don't Transfer Apps & Data."

4) After completing the setup, test the iPhone and see if the issue returns. If it doesn’t, you can restore the backup you created for step 1. Here’s how to restore the backup: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Please keep us posted with the results.

Cheers.

Thank you

i have tried restarting multiple times. I do not have a screen protector or case.

I just had it happen again. I just opened my phone and over half the apps on the first screen were gone. I had to return them one by one from the app drawer.

I am not sure if I need to have it looked at since it’s not repeatable and only happens off and on.

thanks

Thank you

i restored the iPhone without restoring my old phone info to test per your instructions.

I am seeing strange things still.

today I was in the news program reading. Without touching the screen it jumped to the web browser then another program opened which I can’t remember. I went Bach to news and the page I was reading had no hyperlinks to jump or open Safari.

over the weekend I was reading something in Safari and without touching the screen I had the screen pop up to email/message or save screen appear. This opened without touching the screen.

I have no case on the phone per hour testing instructions as well.

it’s seems that my screen is so touch sensitive at times that it will do things just by breathing on it and other times it takes sever presses to get it to mark a line.

what should be my next step. I don’t want to start fresh by calling support and have me start at square one again.

thanks.
