iPhone won't charge in my Vehicle

I have a 2019 Chevy Silverado High Country. The charger worked fine on my iPhone 7 Plus, but when I upgraded to the iPhone 11 Pro Max it will not work. My daughters iPhone 10 doesn't charge on it either. My sons 7 and my husbands 12 work fine on it. GM says its an iPhone problem. We tried my phone on a brand new 2021 vehicle as well and it didn't work there either. How can I get my phone to charge on the wireless charger in my vehicle? Anyone have this problem and fixed it?

Hi CowboyChick,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, you are unable to charge your iPhone 11 Pro Max wirelessly in your car, do we have that right? You mentioned charging your iPhone 7 Plus which doesn't allow wireless charging, are you using a lightning cable or charging with a wireless charging pad? Does it work with the charging cable that came with your iPhone? If you're using a charging pad, is it a compatible Qi-certified charging pad or a built-in car charger?

What iOS is currently installed on your iPhone 11 Pro Max and on the iPhone X? You can check by going to Settings > General > About. The latest version available is iOS 14.2 for both devices.

Try the steps listed in this article: If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge.

Hope that helps!

CowboyChick,

Thank you for clarifying and providing that information. Did you get a chance to try the steps in the article provided? Was your iPhone 11 Pro max set up as new or was it restored from a backup? Does the same thing continue if you Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings and set it up as new? Be sure to back up your device prior to restoring it so you have a current copy of your data.

Sorry, it was the iPhone 8 plus that I had that worked. The Dealership says it's the phone and not the charger which I believe because my husbands new iPhone 12 works fine. It's the wireless charger that is built in to my truck. A charging cable works but when I'm driving and using maps it's very convenient to have my phone in the charging station in my truck where I can easily see it and it stays charged while I'm driving. This particular phone won't charge on ANY wireless charging station! I have tried them all. I've turned off Bluetooth, turned the phone off, turned it back on, placed it on a charger and turned blue tooth back on and still no charging from any wireless device. I have 14.2 installed.
