iTunes to iPhone

I have approximately 8K songs in my iTunes account some were purchased on PC some directly on iPhone (6K songs) to be exact. I have say 150 playlists on iPhone. I’ve realized I can’t get to the songs on main account since I have not turned on SYNC on my iPhone. If I do that it says it will delete the songs on my iPhone and replace them. I would like to get the ones I’m missing on my phone for playlists. My question is if I turn this on now what happens to my playlists on my iPhone ? Will they be deleted ? Or will they stay and be Re populated with the same songs that were there to begin with. I am afraid of loosing those playlists as they have taken years to create. Please advise. Thank you

iPhone 7, iOS 13

It sounds like you created everything on the phone and not iTunes. Have you been transferring your purchases to iTunes from the phone? If you haven't synced the iPhone to iTunes music library, then that is why you got the warning about deleting songs. If all of the music is in your iTunes library, then syncing will just put it on there based on what you have checked. However, if the playlists are not in your iTunes library, they will be deleted when you go to sync. Syncing with iTunes does not go both ways with the music, it won't bring content from the iPhone to the iTunes music library.
