J125G48,
Guided Access is a feature that allows you to limit use on your iPhone to a single app. We were looking at the Auto-Lock options here to see if they displayed the same options you had in Display & Brightness. Since you have all the options here, let’s look at reasons why they are missing from the main Settings panel.
The Default option at the top of the Guided Access > Display Auto-Lock page should be the only one that mirrors your general settings. If you had Guided Access enabled and Never chosen, yet your screen still locked after five minutes, something is definitely impacting your Auto-Lock features.
Did you check to see if you had a VPN or other profile installed? If you don’t, restoring your software may be the only resolution.
Enjoy your weekend!
Hi, J125G48.
If we understand correctly, you have an iPad Pro running iPadOS 14.2, and you’re experiencing a few concerns. It sounds like you no longer see the FaceTime app and you’re not able to adjust Auto -Lock to Never in Settings. If we’re on the same page we’d like to learn more to see how we can help.
Did your iPad Pro have FaceTime previously? If it did, try doing a search for the FaceTime app to see if it detects that FaceTime is still installed.
Use Search on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you see the FaceTime app, it should tell you if it's in a folder. If you don’t see it, try downloading it again from the App Store:

Regarding Auto-Lock, what do you see when you navigate to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock? If your iPad Pro is a model that uses Face ID instead of Touch ID, you might also check Attention Awareness features:

We also always suggest a simple restart to resolve many issues.

We appreciate you taking the time to post in the Apple Support Communities.
Warmest Regards.
As I suspected, the Guided Accessibility setting does not override the Display and Brightness setting. My D&B setting is at 5 minutes and the GA setting is at 10. Sure enough, the screen went black after 5 minutes.
While there are lots of choices under Guided Accessibility, there are only two (2 and 5) under display and Brightness. So what’s the point of having the Guided Accessibility settings if they don’t apply? I don’t understand...
Some miscommunication. I have no issues with FAceTime — works just fine. AutoLock however, not so much. When I go to AutoLock I have only 2 minutes and 5 minutes as my choices. No “never” . Worked for more than an hour with an Apple tech and it looked like the only solution was to back up my Ipad to my laptop and reset it somehow. This makes me too nervous. So I will just deal with the timing out problem unless someone has an easier to implement idea.
I do not have VPN. However I cannot tell what other profiles I might have because there is no Profile Management under Settings>General. So how do I know? I do have Exchange because that’s how I get my email from my work email address. so if that’s causing the problem, then I am stuck.
To continue. I don’t have Face ID on this iPad - it’s a 10.5 inch not 11. And restarting did not help.
J125G48,
You're absolutely right! You said "Face ID" and we read "FaceTime". Thank you very much for pointing that out.
We understand being nervous about backing up your iPad and restoring the software. You may have already tried these steps with Apple Support, but we know how intrusive it can be when the the display locks before we're ready. If you haven't already, you might try these:
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access (enable) > Display Auto-Lock, what do you show here?
Also, if you have any type of VPN, Exchange, or mobile management profile set up on your iPad it could be impacting options we would normally see in Settings.
Finally, try to Reset All Settings before completely restoring your iPad. This will restore you settings to defaults without actually removing any of your data. You'll have to set up your Wi-Fi networks, Home Screen, Privacy and Location settings, and your saved credit cards, but it may also resolve the issue for you before taking the steps to restore.
This article explains both processes:

We're also happy to help you create a backup and restore as suggested by Apple Support if you need an extra hand.
Best Regards.
Hi — thnaks for these ideas. I went to Guided Accessibiity as you suggested. THere are lots of options there, including “never” However it says in the fine print below that screen that the screen willl AutoLock based on my Display and Brightness setting.
I will try this one, however and we will see what happens.
I will consider your suggestion about returning to original settings. THanks
J125G48,
Thank you for checking for a profile. If you don't see the option for Profiles at Settings > General that indicates that you don't have any profiles installed. However, we've noticed other Apple Support Communities that have discovered their Auto-Lock settings are being impacted by an Exchange account installed on their device.

If possible, you might reach out to your Exchange administrator for suggestions from here.
Best Wishes.
