iTunes account mayhem

We have 5 devices, 3 phones, an IPad, and an iMac all linked to the same iTunes account. As my son has gotten older this is becoming an issue as there are times, iOS updates and such where settings morph and text and FaceTime audio calls and stuff are happening on all devices. Chaos. We need to have different iTunes accounts. How do we do this and still keep the structure of what’s loaded on the devices the same. Help please

Exactly. Apple IDs are personal. You should not share one any more than you would share a toothbrush. What you need to do is choose one person as the master account. On all other user’s devices go to Settings, tap on the name at the top, scroll down and tap Sign Out. Then create new Apple IDs for each user other than the master account. It is OK to have the same account on devices used by one person (such as an iPhone and an iPad), but each user should have their own.

On the iMac, if you all share one login that would be a good choice for the master account. Then create user accounts for each other family member who uses the iMac (Menu, System Preferences, Users & Groups) that match their new Apple IDs.

After the accounts are created set up Family Sharing by adding each family member to the master account ➡️ What is Family Sharing? - Apple Support
