iTunes Plalylist > Transfer to Thumb Drive

Question

iTunes Plalylist > Transfer to Thumb Drive

When I click and drag the playlist I want to put onto a thumb drive I get the message shown in this photo.

No other songs are playing, however, and I don't know which version of the song is causing the problem.

Does anyone have any work around suggestions, please?

Does the playlist have more than one copy of the same track in it? Are any of the tracks from an Apple Music subscription? I think .m4p might be a protected format, so unlikely to be of use outside the iTunes environment.

Update: I found one version of the song whose status was "Protected." So I removed it from the Playlist.

Now none of the songs will even begin to transfer to the thumb drive; the playlist icon slides off the drive's window as soon as I let go of it. There isn't enough time to display the notice I mentioned in the original question.

I'm not entirely surprised. I've seen other posts that say drag & drop to thumb drives is broken. You should be able to copy the content to a folder on your desktop, then transfer that to your drive.

Thank you, but I had tried dragging the songs into a separate folder before sending in my initial question.

I get the same thing that I get now from trying to drag them to the thumb drive: the little greyed-out circle with the line through it and the icon immediately sling-shotting out of the drive.
