I would try it a few times. If it refuses to pair and play properly, you may need to follow the final step in the article I noted in parentheses, which is to contact Apple Support. I had to replace one of my AirPods Pro due to it not syncing with the other appropriately.

When I remove the left AirPod the light stays solid green on the case with just the right side in the case. However when I add the left one in the case the light immediately flashes green. I have cleaned the metal prongs on the pod and the case but still I can’t connect.
