iCloud account not working in Mail set-up

My iCloud account is added to my phone, and when I try to activate the mail app, it will not work. When I open the Mail app and select "iCloud", enter my email & password, I get an error message "Could Not Sign In. This iCloud account has already been added to your phone."


I have an iPhone7, on iOS 14.2.

Did you setup as follows -- Set up iCloud Mail on your devices - Apple Support?
