Slow photo slideshow export from photos on Macbook air 2020 M1

Hi, i have a macbook air M1 with 512G storage and 8G RAM. Today when I was trying to export a photo slideshow (112 photos) from photos in a 1080p video format, I find it is extremely slow. It took about 16 mins to complete. I tried the same on my 2015 macbook pro and 2012 imac, both computers managed to export the photo slideshow much faster - within 5 mins. I am very surprised by this result.

Does anyone have a similar experience with this?

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm this issue was resolved after I updated my Big Sur to 11.1 today. The speed of exporting the photo slideshow is very fast now. This is apparently an issue of the first version of Big Sur. Cheers.

Again - can you confirm that the resulting saved video file size on disk, is the same size on the M1 as on your macbook pro/imac? (I'm not sure if your "everything is the same" refers only to your output settings, or if you have also compared the video file size)

Click the files on the different machines, and open the info pane (CMD-i). Compare the file size, dimensions and codec.
