How to disable Family Personal Hotspot ?

I got my new MacBook 13 air.

When I log in and set everything. I saw the Wi-Fi setting has a family iPhone show on it.

Because my family each, at last, got 2 phones. (totally over 6 iPhone/iPad shows on it)

So, when everybody came back. I got a long list on Wi-Fi select tab.

Because sometimes I need to test some software feature I need to connect to the personal hotspot. It was very easy to connect to the family iPhone.

And not all cellular devices use an unlimited data plan.

How to only show "my" cellular device?

I Google it. Even nobody says how to disable this feature.

I don't want to just because of this problem to disable family share.

Thanks

MacBook

Hi mars9728,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. We see that you don't want to accidentally connect to another family member's device and use it as a Personal Hotspot.

We're glad to help.

The best way to avoid this would be to make sure that any device that doesn't wish to be connected to the personal hotspot disable that on their devices.

Second, if they want to have it on, they can go to Settings > Personal Hotspot > Family Sharing and disable Family Sharing.

This explains more details: How to set up a Personal Hotspot on your iPhone or iPad

Take Care.
