My iPhone 8 upgraded to IOS 14.2. There is a bug in sending photos from my phone in a group text text. I have SMS, MMS, and group texting activated. Did not have this issue prior to recent 14.2 upgrade

Thanks for the additional information. Does the same issue occur after restarting the device using the steps here: Restart your iPhone
Also, is the issue occurring with a iMessage group, SMS group, or is it a combination of both in the group message?
Lastly, have you tested the issue with a different photo to see if the results are the same?

I am trying to attach a photo that I took with my phone to a text message. I have tried it both ways, starting with the photo (all photos roll from the camera) and then trying to add the names and message, and I have also tried to use the camera icon on the text thread. IN both cases, it looks like it attaches the photo, I then type in the recipient or group recipients, and then I click the text box (with the arrow) and the curser blinks says "attachment" but then won't send the text. It seems to freeze - takes no action and then doesn't send the message.

Have turned phone on and off numerous times. In some instances that will allow one or two attempts with a photo to go through but more often than not it makes no difference and in the rare cases it does work, it reverts back to no going through quickly. It does not matter if it is MMS or SMS, or individuals or groups - the same issue is seen in each of these variables. And, I have tested with many photos.
What is interesting is that while still not working 100% of the time, I do have more success when I use the camera icon from the text app versus trying to view photos on the camera roll and send through the camera roll app.
