New iPad Pro (4th gen) freezes up

I purchased a New iPad Pro (4th gen) on 11-15/2020 and it keeps freezing up. I have to close whichever app I’m working on and open it up again. It does this on several different apps.

help!

iPad, iOS 10

You can’t delete those apps unfortunately, they’re part of the system.

At this stage I would recommend you restore the iPad to factory settings. This will remove the software from your iPad and install a fresh one which hopefully won’t have these same problems - https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT201252

Make sure you backup your data before proceeding with that.

If even that doesn’t work you may want to contact Apple directly for a more official evaluation of the issue, you can do that here - https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=psp&PRKEYS=PF22

Here is an update to my response on 12/6/2020:

I decided to restore my iPad to its factory settings.

1st: I went to Settings>Apple ID>

>iCloud >iCloud backup and selected Backup Now.

2nd: Once my iPad was backed up I went to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings.

3rd: Once it was reset back to factory settings I began the setup process. The thing I did different this time was instead of setting up my iPad from one of my other devices I chose to set it up “manually.” I’m not sure if this made the difference but I have not had ANY issues with my iPad since I erased and restored it. And since I backed up my data before restoring it to factory settings all

my data reappeared once I finished setting it up. Yay!

FYI, if this has not of worked I had already decided that I would return it. Luckily so far its working fine now.

I hope that this info will help resolve the issues with your iPad.

Best wishes...

Brilliant - I’m glad you’ve got that sorted.

However just a small note, restoring through the settings app doesn’t restore your device to factory settings - it simply erases the data.

To restore to factory settings you need to connect your device to a Mac or PC and use Finder or iTunes to completely wipe the software and install a new one.

If, touch wood, this issue or something similar ever happens again, it may be worthwhile to try that method as sometimes the software on your device is the thing causing the problem.
