Messages on my S4 running WatchOS 7.1 I have no names or contacts and I can’t add shortcuts/complications on the watch faces of my contacts. Adding contacts to a watch face on the watch is unavailable, and using the watch app on my iPhone I add them and they instantly disappear

Are you using iCloud Contacts?
Let's try unpairing the Apple Watch and iPhone. Then set them back up. Unpair and erase your Apple Watch.
