Why do I have to suffer so many irrelevant US based content on Apple News. I really couldn’t care less about American cars for example when Subscribing to Auto category. Why is the product so inferior? Why not make content 90% UK and 10% US or rest of the world?

What country are you in? Apple New is currently available in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. See the following instructions to personalize the News app so that is more to your taste:
Follow, unfollow, or block channels and topics in Apple News - Apple Support
You can also simply not use it. There are other news feed apps that may be more to your liking. I believe Google makes one, for example.
