My Apple branded Lightning SD Card reader stopped working and I'm not sure why.
My SDXC card can be read by my 2012 MBP and is recognized as a DSLR (Nikon D300s). My D300s reads and writes on the SD card just fine as well. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot the Lightning SD Card reader for iPhone Xs Max. I've used the same Lightning SD Card reader successfully before.

First, if you haven't already, could you please restart your iPhone and let us know if you see any improvement: Restart your iPhone
Also, could you please confirm if you have access to any other iOS devices? If so, does this cable seem to experience the same issue when connected to those devices?

Hi! Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, restarting didn’t have any effect and the adapter doesn’t work with other SD cards or other iOS devices
Yes in fact it has worked with the same SD card and the same device (iphone) before
