Text messages show as read when i havent checked them

Recently, people will send me text messages and I never get the notification. When i go to the message thread thier messages show as already being read, even though I never received a notification. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, I recently updated to 1OS 14.2, I do not have other devices that are checking my messages, like iwatch or MAC. Its random and does not always occur but happens multiple times a day. Are there any known issues with 14.2 that may be causing this?
