We are trying to use our AppleTV for screen mirroring and prompted to enter the passcode, but when we are to enter the passcode that appears on the screen, we don’t get a keyboard to allow us to enter the code.

I have this same problem trying to start Screen Mirroring on iPad Pro running iPadOS 14.4. In the AirPlay code dialog, no amount of clicking or anything else seems to raise the keyboard when this problem occurs.
Restarting the iPad is the only fix I am aware of.

found a very simple solution: just do a hard reset of your iPhone and keyboard comes back

Hello 75Frustrated and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with a passcode for screen mirroring to an Apple TV device.
How to AirPlay video and mirror your device's screen - Apple Support
You may need to tap of click (depending on if this is from a Mac or an iOS device) in the field for the passcode before you're able to type the passcode in.

I am using an IPhone 12 pro and have the same issue: the password and/or code field in Screen mirroring does not present a keyboard. I tried to tap on the field many times but nothing!!!
same thing here...trying to share my phone screen to my tv and don’t have the option to use a keyboard to enter the 4 digit passcode.

The P doesn’t register on the phone so I can unlock it
