Keyboard doesn’t appear and can’t enter passcode.

Trying to connect to Apple TV with iPhone 11. No keyboard to enter on screen code. Numerous people posted from 2021 same problem. So when is Apple going to fix the problem and why do I keep buying new devices from Apple?
