Low Memory Warning On New Macbook Pro

I just purchased a Macbook pro and uploaded my profile using Time Machine. I consistently get a pop up window telling me "Your computer is low on memory. To free up some memory, please close a few applications." I only have Google Chrome open. Help?

Using significant memory When I'm on ebay or Facebook. The more I scroll down reading things. I get this message across the top of the window that says "This webpage is using significant memory. Closing it may improve the responsiveness of your Mac". I have 8 GB ram and a 1 T hard drive. What can I do to stop this message from appearing. Thank you.
