On iPhone, how do I choose which microphone to use?

On my iPhone, I need to record my voice with the built-in mic while listening to a backing music track on my headphones.

Now, when I plug in my Apple-provided earbuds (with cords) which also have a mic, audio input switches to the earbud-mic. This is not what I want. How can I choose the input device?

The app I’m using is "The Virtual Singer", which doesn’t provide dedicated audio input selection.

Hi Juergen Voelker,

It seems you had a concern about selecting the audio input and we can help.

If your app doesn't allow you to choose which mic to use, then you won't be able to choose this another way. The best you can do would be to use headphones that don't have a built-in microphone.

Let us know if that helps.
