create divide sign in numbers
How do I create the divide sign in numbers (High Sierra). Slash sign comes up as + sign and using the various keys does not help.

If you look more closely you'll see that's a division sign, not a + sign. Same symbol you see on electronic calculators. Your eyes will quickly get used to it.

The division sign is accessible from the keyboard, but it will not be recognized if you type it directly into a formula.
Formulas will accept only the 'traditional' arithmetic operators, + - * and / and will
automatically change those into the equivalent arithmetical signs +−× and÷
The only one that seems to cause comment is the division sign. + is unchanged, the change from hyphen to division sign is subtle enough to be not noticed in context (as is the difference between the multiplication sign and a lower case letter x (x,×).

Many thanks - fat fingers and typing in wrong formula, plus not looking more closely, didn't help
Thanks Barry - lesson learnt.
