Disable step counts when I’m on my bike

My bike computer (Elemnt Bolt) computes my active calories when I’m on my bike. I want to disable my iphone 12 and Apple Watch 6 from counting steps and calculating active energy when I’m on a bike ride. How do i do that? Specifically because Noom is counting my active calories twice because of this.

can apple please create an option to turn off the pedometer manually for workouts I recently bought a Apple Watch Ultra 2, to track my workouts. Now almost every workout seems to count as steps. Starting with my indoor rowing warmup. 5 minutes is over 1000 steps. This is really annoying. Even my wives cheap samsung watches recognizes the difference between walking and rowing. Anyway, turning it off manually while keeping track of heart rate and enabling other fitness apps to keep track of your fitness routine would do the trick and seems like an easy to fix in an update solution. It’s really weird that even though many have been facing this issue, apple hasn’t found a way by adding a pause pedometer for a set time button or something. That also would help those knitting people who don’t want to take off their watches while knitting.
