Centering a photo to print

Here is my problem: I want to print a photo I have stored in a folder on my desktop, and I want the image to be 5x7 on a letter sized paper, AND I want the image to be centered on the page.

When I print it now, it prints slammed up against one border, not centered. I've tried a lot of things (scaling it, etc) but isn't there a simple way to CENTER AN IMAGE ON THE PAGE? It seems like one of the simplest things you can ask of printer software.

Hi

If it is in a folder, presumably you are not using the photos app to print it. So what app are you using.

Alternatively import it into photos, and print from there. Photos centres images on the page by default.
