Sadly the last driver support from HP for that scanner, was for Mac OS X 10.9.

Try opening Image Capture in your Applications folder and see if it will recognize the scanner?

If not, then check for VueScan support at > https://www.hamrick.com

If that doesn't work, then it's time to replace that old scanner and/or get a newer all-in-one printer /scanner.

Please explain if you are using Image Capture (pre-installed on your computer) or the HP software. If you are using the HP software, please uninstall and please update Mac OS, there may be an update awaiting you that handles the problem.
