apple tv cannot finish homekit and airplay set up 301024

apple tv gives me an alert saying 'finish home set up' when i follow all steps, i keep getting set up failed and code 301024. have done a factory reset.

  • reset apple tv
  • make sure icloud keychain is enabled
  • delete home app in your phone and re-install
  • setup apple tv again
  • during setup use icloud setup
  • while using follow the setups


had the same problem and above worked for me. but not sure if it works for everyone. it's a shame that we need to do find our own solutions instead the guys in apple there do nothing about it..

We see you are having some trouble with setting up your Apple TV in HomeKit. We want to help get that feature working for you! Try going into the Home app on your iOS device and finishing the setup there and then doing the setup on your Apple TV once more: Set up your HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub.
