No Destination disk when trying to reinstall OS from internet recovery mode

I was preparing my MacBook Pro, 15 inch retina to give to my nephew. I erased the disk and when I tried to go to recovery mode I was directed to internet recovery (never seen that before) When I try to reinstall the operating system from the internet recovery mode I get as far as selecting the destination disk for the Os but no disk is shown?

Can anyone help?

In Internet Recovery select the Disk Utility option. In the left column you should see something like Apple SSD. If you don’t your computer requires service. If you do see this, select it, delete the partition(s) and try installing the OS again.

Thanks for your response. I have already erased my MacBook Pro hard drive. I think this is what has caused my problem.

I have restarted my MacBook in recovery mode and I am directed to internet recovery. That loads up and when I select the "reinstall Mac OS" I select that and agree but when the window opens with the message "select the disk to install the operating system" there is no disk shown?

Hi there and thanks for your response.

I do see the apple SSD in the left pane of utilities.

When I select the apple SSD it shows the partition layout as "current" and the window says "disk0s2"

The instructions in the right hand section star: " To erase and partition the selected disk, choose a layout from the partition layout pop-up menu, set options for each partition and click apply"

I don't know what to do here?

Do I select 1 2 or any other number of partitions? and what options should I select for the partitions?
