I get all my incoming SMS and iMessage on MacBook but if I try to reply it says "Message not delivered" with no other explanation. It doesn't matter if it's sent as an iMessage or SMS, both fail. The same messages send fine from my iPhone 12 Pro.

As SMS messages on the Mac actually go through your iPhone via Text message Forwarding, make sure that the iPhone has been updated to iOS 14.3. This update addressed some issues with SMS messages.
