Option to select carrier before sending message missing

Hi! I am using an iPhone 12 on dual SIM mode with one physical and other eSIM. While sending a new message I am unable to select the SIM from which I prefer to send. The message is sent from the last number used for that particular contact. However, this option is available while making a call. Being a first time iPhone user after years of android experience I believe that such a basic requirement would not have been missed out. Request to assist me enable any option, if available, to get the option of SIM selection before sending a message.
