are you using a high power charging adapter? You need at least 15-20W for fast charging.

And then bear in mind, you only get fast charge to around 80% - from there to 100% goes slower.

What power adapter are you using? It should not have taken 3 hours to charge. The only way you can return the phone is if you purchased it less than 14 days ago. The return period is only 14 days if you purchased from Apple. If purchased somewhere else, you would have to check their return policy.

The iPhone is designed to quickly go to 80% charge, then it will slowly finish the other 20% to get to 100%. It is made to do that to lessen the stress on the battery for the quick charges to 80%.

Then you would have to look at their return policy. If they won't take the return, then you would have to make arrangements to have the device examined by Apple to determine if there is a problem.
