Be careful, the Mid 2010 iMac's with Core I3 processor can only upgrade to 16 gigabytes of memory...

The i5 and i7 can support 8 gigabyte chips in each slot...

General, generic bargain basement PC RAMs just create all manor of unexplained issues.
OWC has either 16GB or 32 GB RAM options for the 2010 iMacs. That would triple your existing ram to 24 GB, or by removing your existing 8GB RAM cards, you could install the 32 GB solution, as the maximum addressable RAM is 32 GB, using 4x8GB SO-DIMMS.
