How to disable automatic lens switching when taking photos

I know how to disable this “feature” when taking video, however, I don’t know how to do it in photo mode. When I choose 0.5, 1 or 2x I want the appropriate lens chosen I don’t want the iPhone to awkwardly switch between lenses when I already have an image lined up to the lens i already selected.
