M1 Mac mini - Can You Use a Thunderbolt Docking Station for Displays

Ok this might seem like an odd questions, but would hooking up the new Mac mini M1 via a thunderbolt 3 docking station, allow it to use the display attached to the docking station?

I ask because it would be much easier since my work laptop is already hooked up to the docking station so the printer, keyboard etc is all attached. There are two displays attached to the docking station. If I could just swap out the thunderbolt cable depending on what I am using at the time that would be great.

I do that now with my MacBook Pro, but not sure if it works the same with the Mac mini which has it's own display connections.
