All of a sudden the fan for my iMac is really loud and it constantly runs. Never slows down or gets quiet. Sounds like a white noise generator. Has even one ever had this issue with this specific model of iMac? It does not have the T2 controller so the reset probably won't work. Any suggestions?

It used to be easy when it was just the earlier Intel iMac’s. Now there are different sets of instructions for the M1 Mac’s, the T2 MacBooks and Desktops. Now the earlier Desktop Mac reset instructions, are way down towards the bottom of the support article.

I know it really doesn’t matter at this point, but according to my iMac system report, my iMac doesn’t have the T2 chip yet these instructions still worked for it.
