Why less features?

How come lots of the features for the new apple watches are unavailable when the watch is using family setup, and why is it the same price if it doesn’t have all the features?

Because you don't have the expense of buying an iphone,if it had all the features active then we'd all be on family sharing.And there are features that require the use of a phone.

* A cellular plan isn't required to set up an Apple Watch for a family member, but is necessary for some features.

Would you recommend getting the Apple Watch SE then because the special features on the Series 6 are not available?

Here is what is not available through family sharing on ANY watch;

Quote;

The following features and apps are not available: irregular heart rhythm notifications, ECG, Cycle Tracking, Sleep, Blood Oxygen, Podcasts, Remote, News, Home and Shortcuts.

Thank you. So do you mean that if you get a cellular plan on the watch it'll come with more features or a cellular plan on the iPhone?

No, to get all features you would need your own iphone.
