(2) Ensure that notifications for the Messages app is also set correctly by opening Settings ➔ Notifications ➔ Messages ➔ Allow Notifications : Set this to ON ➔ Alerts : Ensure that Lock Screen, Notification Center and Banners are Checked ➔ Badges : Set this to ON ➔ Sounds: Ensure that the Text Tone is listed.
