It's only just started happening recently, but when I export my videos, I can see the white backgrounds that I've keyed out with the luma key. On FCPX when editing, it looks fine, but when I export, the background is visible (although a little bit faded).

Sorry for the late response, I ended up making as I was on a tight time limit, but it's just happened again.
I've got version 10.5.1 running on Big Sur 11.0.1
This is the screen pre and post render. I'm not sure what the issue is. Once I render it, that's when the white background reappears.
What versions of FCP and macOS?
Can you post some screenshots showing the viewer in FCP and the exported version?
Try deleting render files, and exporting again. Any change?
Try deleting preferences. Any change?
Would it be possible for you to share an xml of your project?
Are you applying the Luma Keyer to a still image? Could you share that image as well?

Also, if it is a still image, I suggest you remove the white background in Preview, instead of using the keyer.
First, there is a problem with using Luma Keyer with this image: the white band in the dress of the first character is keyed out!
Second, apart from that issue, I was able to remove the background by adjusting the slider for "Luma Rollof".
I stand by my previous recommendation to instead treat the still image and remove the background. Preview has a "magic wand" that in most cases works superbly. In this case, it is not so easy, because there are so many parts of the characters that are white - same as the background - and not clearly separated from it.
I took the liberty to open your image in Pixelmator Pro, and produce the following version, exported as a png file with alpha channel. No need to use any Keyer for this one.
