my airpod mic only works on the left side and not the right. i looked at the mic settings and says that it is connected to right, this problem occurred last night while on the phone and nobody could hear me. i have tried forgetting the device and I don’t know what else to try. i have tried cleaning them and it didnt work. it may be possible that it got switched with another pair. how can i tell if they got switched?

Some people have reported success with this:
Open the Settings app and go to the Bluetooth section. Next to the AirPods entry on the list of devices, you should see an “i” icon inside of a circle. Tap this, then select microphone, and set it to either left, right or automatic. Try switching it back and forth.
