Word “I-Circumflex” Added in Spoken Content Text to Speech

I use Accessibility Spoken Content to read online novels out loud on my iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. All are updated to iOS 14.2. The issue recently started when the reader randomly adds the words “i-circumflex i-circumflex” after reading 5 to 6 sentences! This is added anywhere in a sentence, then, repeated a few sentences later.

Here is an example:

Was: Mary had a little lamb. His fleece was white as snow.

Now: Mary had a i-circumflex i-circumflex little lamb. His fleece i-circumflex i-circumflex was white as snow. i-circumflex i-circumflex

I found is the letter i with a roof too shaped mark used in French and other languages. I see none of these characters onscreen when Siri is reading the screen.

i have tried reading using Spoken Content of several sites, several web pages and got the same results.

I have used Reader View OFF and ON and the same thing happens.

I have rebooted all the devices and did not fix this.

How do I get rid of this error in Spoken Content because it’s useless in its current state?

Btw, I use the voice of Australian Male Siri, if this makes a difference.

Thank you for the info. The problem temporarily cleared itself on my iPod without help from me or any new iOS updates. Then, it started acting up again. Same thing for my iPhone. It fixed itself without help and is still working correctly now. I still don’t know the root cause of this issue. I will try iOS14.2.1 when it is generally released.
