M1 Macbook Pro speakers are softer and quieter

Has anyone noticed that the 13inch M1 Macbook pro speakers are quieter and sound more muffled to, for example, 2019 13inch Macbook Pro? - honestly the speakers sound rubbish on the M1

Volume is too low How can I increase the sound volume? I maxed it out using settings, but it does not sound nearly as loud as it used to.

Amazon Music audio terrible Apple CarPlay Lately Amazon Music sounds terrible when using Apple CarPlay. It sounds like it’s coming through a cheap 2” speaker. Very tinny sounding, not full. Bluetooth sounds fine but I obviously then lose the CarPlay features. I signed up for Spotify this morning and did a direct A/B test through apple car play. Spotify sounds normal. What is going on here?
