Physically putting files on our iPad Pro (from a PC)

I am trying to get a 1Gb video file from my PC to my iPad Pro so that it can be viewed without Internet connection.

I've connected the iPad to the PC with a USB-C to USB cable, but when I select "Apple iPad > Internal Storage > DCIM" in Windows Explorer all I'm presented with are a heap of directories...."100APPLE, 103CLOUD, 104CLOUD...up to 120CLOUD".

None of these directories will allow me to drag the file into them.

Can someone please explain, in very basic terms, what I need to do.

Thank you.

The manual would be "remarkably" useful if it related, in any way, to what you might need to do....

  1. Connect your device to your computer.
  2. You can connect your device using a USB or USB-C cable or a Wi-Fi connection. To turn on Wi-Fi syncing, see Sync iTunes content on PC with devices on Wi-Fi.
  3. In the iTunes app  on your PC, click the Device button near the top left of the iTunes window.
  4. Click File Sharing.
  5. In the list on the left, select the app on your device that you want to transfer a file to or from.

...I don't want to transfer the file to an app, I want to put it in my Files folder on iPad.

What now?
