Which version of ITunes has full Ipod classic functionality? posted 12-10-2020

I have a IPod Classic 160 gig Model MC297LL running firmware version 2.0.4 PC and am using Windoze 10 running ITunes 12.9.0.167. Somehow the ITunes software was upgraded to this version. It recognizes my IPod, but there is no option for adding folders and playlists to my IPod. I'm not sure that this is the correct terminology. A folder would contain several CD's and each CD would be a playlist, a playlist would contain several songs. I could create the folder and the playlist on the IPod and drag songs directly to the playlist on the IPod. I can currently drag and drop songs to the existing folders and playlists, but can't create new ones.

What is the latest older version of ITunes that supports full IPod Classic functionality? I am now wondering what other functionality is missing that I haven't yet discovered?

My IPod still works, but the other night I was trying to download some tracks and made the discovery of missing functionality.

The newest version of iTunes for Windows fully supports syncing with your iPod classic. In the sidebar on iTunes, you can create playlists by right-clicking the empty space below the 'Playlists' label and add songs to your playlists by dragging them from the album or song view to the playlist's name on the sidebar. Then, when your iPod is plugged in to your PC, click on it in the iTunes sidebar and click the music tab. From here, you can click the checkbox next to the text that says 'Sync music onto (your iPod's name)' and check playlists, artists, albums and genres to sync to your iPod, or click 'Entire music library' under the 'Sync' option to sync all of the music in iTunes.
