iMessage or Messages

How do I stop messages from my iPhone popping up on my MacBook. MacBook is on BigSur and I can’t disable messages on the MacBook. Thanks.

Messages app > Messages menu > Preferences > iMessage tab, uncheck the Enable this account box.
