Notification sound vs Ringer sound

My volume is set as low as it will go and yet notifications are still so loud that sometimes the sound distorts. However, when my phone rings, I can barely hear it.

I have tried a hard restart.

I have done factory reset.

I have turned off “change with buttons”.

My software is up-to-date.

And yet, this problem persists

Open Settings Sounds & Haptics Ringer and Alerts : Make sure this is not set to OFF or too Low. Set Change with Buttons to OFF. Below that Make sure that there is a Ringtone selected.

Try the above setting for a few days and see if you like it.

I agree that your post said that Change with Buttons was turned OFF however I wanted to make sure that the Ringer volume level was also adjusted.

You have indicated that your iPhone is new and therefore I recommend that you take advantage of your warranty and have it examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center and take advantage of that warranty. If the stores are closed then please contact ➔ Apple Support
