Notification centre iPad longer visible on locked screen

It should stay on the Notification Center until you tap somewhere on the screen other than on the Notification Center itself. Have you tried a forced restart?

Depending upon which model iPad that you have, choose the method that suits your device in order to perform a forced restart.

• iPad models that don't have a Home button: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.
• iPad with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until you see the Apple logo.

But you can open the Notification Center again after you've unlocked the device by swiping down from the top center.

I understand exactly what you are saying and that’s why I suggested a forced restart. A forced restart can something’s fix little weird issues that crop up on your device. It won’t hurt anything to try it and many times it helps with problems like this.

Now I apologize. I didn’t understand exactly what you were talking about. Even though you clearly stated it was the Notification Center, I was reading it as the Control center.

You cannot control that with regard to the Notification Center other to wake it up again so that you can see what is on there. The screen will go black after several seconds. If you have the notifications in stacks, when you tap on the one on the top, they will open and you will have more time to see them.
