Logic Pro X Plugins opening in control view

Hello,

When I open my plugins in Logic pro they open in Control view instead of editor mode. Everything I have found says to follow this path: Logic Pro X > Preferences > Display > Mixer > Uncheck Open Plugins in control mode.

I do this, but when I open my plugins they are still in control mode. I go check the setting, and it has been reset. I can not find anything about this problem, please help!
