iPad Mini 2 Storage

I posted this question once before, but didn't get much of an answer except "Buy a new one."

A message stating the iPad is reaching storage capacity keeps coming up. We only use the iPad to operate a home automation app (Savant) that we use to run our home theatre system. No e-mail, texting, photos, videos, Music, or Podcasts. More specifically it is:

    • iPad Mini 2 - Model # ME276LL/A
    • Running iOS 12.4.9 (16H5), 7 apps
    • 16 GB capacity
    • 5.3 GB available - Why are storage capacity messages appearing with ⅓ of the disk available?

Does anyone know of a disk utility app for iPad? Perhaps the disk needs to be cleaned up, but I haven't found anything for an iPad.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Don't suggest for me to buy a new one like i was told before.

Thank you.

No, we do not power the pad down very often. Do you have a suggested frequency?

The total disk size is 16 Gb. The System takes up 7.21 Gb, Apps and Data use 3.46 Gb, leaving 5.33 Gb of "Other". I have wondered what "Other" is, but there doesn't appear to be a way to view it and I haven't found a disk utility program for iPad that would help clean up the garbage.

I appreciate you responding to my request for help.

Thanks.
