Hi, tamileewebb,


You can add text by dragging a title from the titles browser to the timeline. You can add the title in the auxiliary timeline on top of clips or in the main timeline.


You can overlay pictures in a number of ways such as cutaways, green screen, and picture in picture, using the overlay feature that you access by selecting the clip and clicking on the overlapping squares icon in the tool bar in the upper right of your screen.


Here's a good online help menu with a good search feature that explains how to use the features of iMovie:
