I went through Apple support, which was not helpful. I also went through Tidal support with multiple inadequate standard chat bot responses, but persisted. Somehow I must have eventually got through to a human at Tidal who must have fixed the issue (without actually responding back to me) or the issue just went away on it's own. One day, I tried again to subscribe directly through Tidal and it worked. So, they either fixed the problem individually for me, they fixed it for everyone, or perhaps after a billing cycle to two, the problem just went away on its own. Very unsatisfying in that I never really knew what transpired to fix the problem. Good luck.
